Here we are in Savannah, Georgia with our old friends from TCU college days. We are staying at the Landing at Doug's gorgeous awesome amazing home. I brought a pear cobbler and a few of us broke into it tonight. I promised them the recipe so here it is, complete with photo.
PEAR COBBLER
Use one & half box rolled pie crust dough [3 rolled crusts] from the refrigerated section, not frozen. Leave out @ room temp for 24 hours before making.
Use two doughs to line a 9 x 13 deep dish pan & use knife to cut remaining dough into strips which will be used for lattice top.
Fill with three 28 oz cans canned pears, cut up

CRUMBLE TOPPING:
1 stick butter
1/2 c flour
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
1 t salt
2 t cinnamon
1 t mace [this is the secret ingredient that brings out the pear flavor]
mix ingredients & cut together until crumbled & scatter over top of pears
Cover with lattice pie crust.
Bake about 40 min at 350 degrees, until nicely browned.
